Every third Friday night of the month is Kids Night. We watch movies, play games, eat pizza—and sometimes even rock out with RockBand. We have periodic church social nights, and biannual church fairs. How am I going to get everything done? Why don’t I have any time to relax? I’m too busy! Americans are very busy people, and we find it hard to manage all the demands of life. There’s only one way I know that works—making the life of the Church our priority. It may seem ironic to say this on a page labeled “Events/Programs.” After all, isn’t the problem that we are overloaded with events and programs? Making a Christian life means founding the events of our lives on the rock of Jesus Christ. The business of our lives demands that we make priorities, and in making the community of Christ our first priority, the rest of our lives can change from barely managed chaos to blessed intentionality.
